Live a real life not one full of shoulds

In case I haven’t mentioned it lately, I really do enjoy getting feedback about my blog posts – from comments to stories, and occasionally some that take me to task for a variety of reasons. It’s all good, because I know that you are giving thought to some important issues.

For example the wants vs should post was rather thought provoking to some followers. Life is meant to be lived, and lived with joy. I do not believe any Creator would create something as precious as life and mean it to be miserable or a drudgery. So here are a few thoughts:

I figure that most of us were raised with “shoulds” from our parents and family members, perhaps our faith. And while some of these “shoulds” were valid and created to maintain safe and productive communities, some of them have become millstones around our necks.

You know I am a big advocate of self-examination. It is good – from time to time – to take a look at the attitudes and habits that are running our life. Along with the comfort zones and restrictive zones, I take a look to see if I have a “should” running around unattended. I give it a thorough “look-see” to make sure that it is valid, and not keeping me from exploring new opportunities or possibilities.

Life is about choices, and you have the ability to choose. You always have had this ability. I suggest that not only do you have the ability, you have the responsibility to make choices for yourself.

This page seems to recieve a large ammount of visitors. How do you advertise it? It gives a nice individual spin on things. I guess having something authentic or substantial to say is the most important thing.
